In order for fat to go away you need to build muscle... that's the rule of thumb.... you need a total body workout, not just any exercise... go to a gym or such and talk to a professional, but like all things that are there to stay this will take some time.. don't lose hope, just keep your motivation

"Baby fat" goes away when a child is about two or three years old. If you are having weight issues, you probably have a slow metabolism from not eating enough. Your body will try to survive the artificial famine by slowing down. You need to eat more of the nutritious foods in your diet, especially fruits and raw veggies, but also include proteins and natural fats like avocados and olive oils.
FYI: the American/European "ideal" of women who look like supermodels is completely unrealistic and unhealthy for 99% of women; their body types just won't function at that kind of proportion. Also, there are a LOT of men who prefer women who have a little extra. What matters most is your health, not other people's opinion.

Baby fat is somewhat a myth. Some kids are chubby, but eventually burn it off by being active.

When you hit your teens, it is a different story. To keep yourself tip top, you must train your body now to keep fit by staying away from certain things:

1. POP
Pop has soo much sugar and caffene in it, that you are taking up most of your calorie intake for the day. Pop makes it hard for teens to concentrate, sleep, keep their moods in check, have a healthy weight, ward of zits etc... Pop will make you chubby.

2. Fast Food
There is too much fat and sugar in fast food. It may be quick, but it is damaging your body. Fat cells have a storage memory. Once you stretch a fat cell, it remembers how much fat it can store, hense why when people yo yo diet, they gain more weight the next time. This makes you hair and skin gross and it will give you fat around the belly for sure.

3. Candy, Fried foods, too much chocolate, over eating.
Candy is a given - sugar, same with chocolate. Chocolate will give you cellulite (the dimply giggly around your thighs and butt. It is gross and the hardest to get rid of).

To know if you are eating too much, only eat half of your sandwich or food dish. If you are still really hungry, then finish the other half. Portions are way to big now a days. You only need to eat a fist size of your food (fist size of veggies, meat, , breads, dairy in a meal). Measure with your own fist. Eat smaller meals and drink more water and eat more frequently. Have carrot sticks, fruit slices in a ziplock and keep it at your desk or in your backpack with a water bottle. When you feel a craving try a bit of both. Did you know that people eat instead of drink water when they are dehydrated? If you find you are hungry alot, have a glass of water. If you are still hungry after that, then eat something small. Snack on veggies and fruits instead of chips.

An important thing you need to do is EXERCISE! This includes playing sports, swimming, rollerblading, playing at the jungle gym, dancing etc. Anytime you are moving around is exercise.

Make sure you are getting enough sleep. No matter how hard you work out or eat right, if your body isn't well rested, it cannot work hard enough to help you stay fit. You should get at least 7 hours a night.

Eat lots of acidic fruits like oranges, grapefruits and apples. These foods kick start your metabolism (what starts the burning of fat and calories - this slows down as you age, so train it now how to work properly).

Cabbage actually helps break up belly fat and makes it easier for your body to flush. Garlic is also great for flushing your body of toxins and fats.

No. Baby fat is exactly what is says. BABY fat. One stops being a baby at around the toddler years, alas... the rest is just, well, fat. Fat doesn't just go away. You have to do something to make it go away. Run, play, climb trees, or if that's just too embarrassing (I am assuming you are almost a teen) then get on your bike and ride, go running, do sit ups, press ups, etc. Use a smaller plate at mealtimes, don't go for seconds, and instead of a huge desert, have one of those little fun-size candy bars or something. For gawd's sake don't cut out all candy and sweets, you'll just end up wanting them more and.... well, exercise and since you're still growing, lucky you, it'll melt off fast enough.

People's bodies change while you grow up. You never know what you will look like and when. I don't know how much body fat you have. To get to like 17% usually takes a lot of hard work. If you are 25% or under I wouldn't worry about it for now. If you want to diet I would speak to a nutricianist first and find out how many calories of what you should have. Eating a healthy balanced diet can't hurt you, but not getting enough of what you need while your growing can.

Unless you're experiencing weight related health problems, there's no reason to try to lose "baby fat" when you're a teenager.

You'll cause more problems by dieting than you will by carrying a few pounds that YOU think are extra.
