First babies will only suggest when future kids might come. If the baby is late, chances are your other kids will be. First babies can also catch first time parents off guard and come really early too. No one but that baby knows when it's coming!! Be prepared to be two weeks late and then anything earlier is great! Try and get as much rest and sleep that your schedule will allow because this is the last pregnancy you'll have the luxury of being able to just take care of you!!!!

My 1st baby was born 36 weeks my 2ed 37 weeks...it's common that 1st time babies are late BUT, that's not always true for all women. Most doctors now a day WILL NOT allow a pregnancy to go over 2 weeks late because it has risk for the baby's health and causes a bigger baby making things worse on the mother.

I'm not sure about that. All mine(3) came two weeks earlier than expected, but I don't know if that had to do with the fact that I worked right up to before I had them especially with the last one. I thought I'd have at least 2 weeks to prepare before she was born. I went to work for the last time and wouldn't you know it she was born 8:50am the next day. I was on my feet for 8-12 hrs everyday, 7 days a week. That last one was the easiest birth I ever had, believe it or not there were no painful contractions. Good luck with yours and congratulations!

It may be true....but what IS true for sure is that MOST babies do not come on their scheduled due dates...first or not first!

My son was born 8 days late....I actually feel bad for you because it really sucks having your due date come and go without a baby!! He or She will come....dont worry!! Good Luck and try to relax!! =)

No not all first babies come late.
When babies are ready they will come, and when your body is ready they will come.
Just relax and don't stress about it , it will happen when it is time for it to happen, just get some rest and maybe a warm shower and enjoy the last moments you will have not being a mommy. lol
good luck and congrats.

Uhhh well if yours doesn't come today then your baby will be "late". =) So that statement is true on you. But its not an ALWAYS thing. I know someone who's 1st baby was early.

No, everyone is different. My first baby was 4 days early, my second and third 2 weeks early and my fourth child was almost a month overdue. So it just depends on you and when your baby is ready to make his/ her grand entrance!! Congratulations and good luck!!

No....my son was 4 days early. Guess how I went into labor? I was at a rock concert and I felt sick standing so close to the speaker. I went in and they told me that it may have been the sound waves that caused it. So, listen to music with alot of bass. My best friend went into labor at the Fourth of July last year after watching the fireworks. So loud noises start labor.
