Its old run down dirty.....I stayed there "1" time and that was ENOUGH 4 me ,,,,omg the floors was dirty...the casino..was FULL of smoke couldnt breath,,,,So i asked them for a different room and they said...Well we can get u into the tower rooms..for A extra...100 dollars....I told them take there room and shove it...and left so as u can tell i DONT RECOMMEND the tropicana..My Advice..Drive down tropicana Ave West..about 1 mile...and u will Find THE ORLEANS...Stay there..The rooms are mini suites..Not over priced..They have a movie house..A bowling alley...Arcade...Plenty of GOOD food..The buffet is GREAT there....So go there and try them u will love it..

It is still in a great location. You might also check out the Hawthorne Suites right behind the Tropicana. I love them because you don't have the slots, you have a suite, you can bring your dog, and get away from the craziness of the strip but be right behind the Tropicana.

Sometimes you might find that different dates have different prices. Perhaps the Tropicana is widely available because they do not have a convention in place where the others might be full due to a convention or something.

I also love Bally's.

Call a travel agent. They might find you a deal at many of the hotels.

The Tropicana is an old lady in a pool full of youngsters; she has been around a long time and my prediction is that she will be the next to go under the ball......

The Tropicana is "old" Vegas, she has served her time....the new mega resorts like NYNY and MGM are appealing to the now crowd.

The Tropicana is old and sort of run down compared to the ones around it. For example, the MGM and NY NY are right across the street.

Not that it is cheap but the others are too high. Fine Strip location. What the heck are you doing analyzing a hotel room in Vegas for? Just go!

The hotel is alright, but the rooms are not in very good shape. My friend checked into her room & found empty liquor bottles . Also the lock on the door was broken!

its older one and its not on the strip on the strip if you want a nice hotel for a good price try the golden nugget is on Fremont st which is old Vegas but i think it is better then the strip . there's more to do in a smaller area after walking casino to casino on the strip you'll understand.

Because it is older and less flashy and doesn't have many of the extras that other newer strip hotels have.
