Different circumstances have different solutions. If you have the key, you can take it to a hardware store or the automotive department at Wal-Mart and they can make you a copy, UNLESS the key has a chip in it, in which case you will have to go to a dealer (trust me...it won't start without it). If you don't have the key, or it's broken off...you'll have to go to a dealership and have your vin # handy. They can have one made by the manufacturer.

If it has PATS (passive anti theft), then the dealership will need to program a key for you (takes about 30 minutes). Otherwise, you can simply give them the VIN and you should be golden.

well if you go tthe old one and it has a chip in it you got to go back to the dealer and if you dont have a key at all look in the owners manuel and try to figure out were it was origanly bought and then go there and give em the vin they should be able to cut you a key

all you need is your vin number and a I.D. go to your local olds dealer and they will make a replacement
