How do you explain that you are the one that broke someones special thing like a vase made by their aunt.?

You start by saying : I am so sorry, I didn't meant to do it, really I am sorry , it was an unfortunate accident, I broke this beautiful vase made by your aunt.
Please accept my apology.
I am really sorry.

Just tell them. Say your very sorry and you didn't mean to but this is what happened. It was a accident and I'm sure they can understand that.

Be honest and tell them. Don't prolong it. If they are your friend and it was truly and accident they will understand.
