Female bettas don't "get pregnant"
The male forms a bubble nest at the surface of the water and forces the female to drop her eggs. He then procedes to pick the eggs off the bottom and put them into the bubble nest. The male then takes care of the eggs until they hatch.
The only time a female betta looks pregnant is when she is carrying a batch of unfertile eggs she hasn't dropped for a male yet....

Female bettas, don't give live birth. When a female is introduced to the male, the mating process is tricky. It pretty much looks like they're killing eachother. The male embraces the female and induces her to release eggs. Then the male takes care of the eggs for a while and the female is half dead from exhaustion. If your betta looks swollen in the abdomen, she most likely has a tumor or a parasite. There are parasite cures available at pet stores.

Obviously she's going to get bigger around as things progress, but I know that in the case of a livebearer, It's virtually impossible to tell for sure if she is pregnant until she isn't pregnant anymore and you have dozens of wee tykes to keep her company in your fish tank. I would imagine the same applies to egg-layers (as another contributor rightly points out, the Betta falls into this latter category), although I never had anyone lay eggs in my tank when I had fish as a kid, so I can't say for sure.

Bettas aren't live bearers like guppies, mollies, platties, and swordtails. Whne I think about how a knocked up mollie look it does look like a bloated betta. Females lay eggs, and don't swell up with eggs ever. I suspect you are feeding her too much, and/or she's bloated. Look at the pictures on bettatalk's feeding sections, and the diease section for details. (Note the woman who runs bettalktalk's bettas are simply spoiled from birth. Store bought betta readily eat flakes, and pellets.)

Well, if you're sure it's a girl, they won't have babies without a male. They are egg-layers and they need males to expel the eggs.

Well, she'll have babies... then eat them if you don't get them out of the tank soon enough and into a new one.
