Just take out the floppy drive. Its your best bet!

assuming you are using windows, disable the drive from the bios (if I remember right, it's F8 when your computer is starting). Then load Windows like you normally do. The drive should be gone.
Now you can unplug it and take it out completely from your computer.
That's it.
Hope this works. I've only done the inverse process (installing the drive), but I'm pretty sure this should work.

go to bios setup and dis able floppy drive or open your computer and unplugg the power cable

go into bios (usually f1, f2, or delete, depending on your computer) and then to floppy drives and disable it, f10 usually saves bios, and reboot...
