celebs have fans and even tough people might think its pathetic they are admired, respected and looked up too some people are even in love with them. Come on, you've never been interested in someone and wouldn't mind finding out their likes and dislikes or whoever they were dating (if the case) if you could. Not in a stalker way but just to know. People like to know just how down to earth celebs really are.

I like to know because it's funny to see who hooks up with who.
People who care about who celebs are dating do have lives. It's away of getting away. At times it gets so depressing listening to the news or whatever. At least for me seeing how messed up these celebs are with their relationships makes me feel like I have the best one on earth. LOL
Also all those people that said they have no lives...why are they at the celebrity category then? They must not have lives either.

lack of a life. People feel like they know famous people though. Through the movies or just hearing about them so often.

I've asked this question repeatedly and the best I can guess is that it provides a distraction from taking care of things in their own lives. In one sense, it's a good thing because it lessens the opportunity for them to be busybodies and gossips in everyday life. Not likely, but I want to be hopeful. ;-)

Because people have nothing better to do with their time than worry about what other people are doing with their lives. These are probably the same people that talk crap about other people....

cuz people r alwayz in someone business i dont really care their regular people just with a talent and gets paid to show it off on t.v for our entertainment but i still would want to know

I truly think average people are so shallow, that anything that swayes their attention from their boring lives is a welcome thing
I personally don't care about who's dating who... but I know I'm in the minority

I've never figured that out either. My guess is that they just want to live vicariously because they are not happy with their own lives, etc.
