Avocado trees are great if you like the fruit. If you get a young one don't expect fruit anytime soon. They can take around 7 years before they start producing.

you can start a avocado tree first buy a avocado and take the pit pointed side up. put seed in a 6oz glass stick several toothpick to keep it up and change water often put the glass in a sunny spot

what about it? if you want to get one, I recommend going to a nursery where they stock the trees and ask questions to decide whether you want Bacon or Hass.
