She has liked him for about as long as me but she is like obessive about him. I am friends with him and he's my buddy. I do like him a little more than a friend. My friend knows but she still is crazy over him while I just play it cool around him and just hang out. We do flirt kind of.

i came very close to losing my best friend over a guy.. in pretty well the same situation.. she liked him.. a lot i thought of him just as a friend.. but it turned out he liked me not her.. i went for it (as he was like the first guy who ever admitted to me that he liked me)
so i made a big mistake.. and she was so pissed at me and luckily after awhile she was able to fogive me..

keep in mind though i've known her since i was like 11.. this happened when we were 19 (i'm 26 now)
we haven't been as close since.. she may have forgiven me.. but i really doubt she's forgotten

plus i know i wasn't the best friend i should have been..
and i feel guilty about it nearly every time we hang out

Hello, If your best friend is obsessive - that could drive him away from her. If you really want him you need to try & win him over - give it your best shot, and then let him decide- who he wants the most. But you might lose your best friend, so you have to decide what is more important? Your other choice is just keep on what you're doing & let chance (or luck) decide for you... Good "luck"...

Chics before d.icks. If this guy is going to come between you and your friend if one of you dates him, why bother?
