How can you put Yao at 4th? And you call him an underachiever?? After his toe surgery in March last season, Yao put up amazing numbers despite playing without Tmac. There was a stretch where he had 8 consecutive games of scoring over 30+points and grabbing 10+ rebounds. His numbers have been improving each year and he's a double-double guy. Now, that he's injury free, he and Tmac will lead the Rockets to the playoffs next season. Read this article here that talks about it: http://fantasysports.aol.com/ph/article.cfm/ID.5623

Anyway, here's my ranking:
1. Shaquille O'Neal-most dominant player in the world
2. Yao Ming-double double average, can shoot from outside and post up, he's 7'6
3. Zydrunas Ilgauskas-career averages of 15, 8 rebounds, can shoot the jumper, but he's 31 years old now compared to Yao who's 25
4. Ben Wallace- best shot blocker under 7 foot, only 6'9 but he's a beast in the paint, an amazing defender

Ilgauskas is a terrible, terrible basketball player. Yao is already way better than him, and Yao's not all that great either.

Shaq is just about the only center in the NBA today who knows how to play basketball... Wallace was 2nd team all NBA this year, but Shaq annihilated him in the playoffs.

Mourning doesn't have the durability any more to rate at the top of the list...but it's invaluable to have him as a back up.

Ilgauskus should not even be spoken in the same breath as Shaq, Big Ben, Yao and Zo.. he is not in the same league. there are other great centers that need to be mentioned before him like theo rattliff, chris bosh ( though he is not a natural center).

I prolly place him below Ben Wallace and Yao Ming due to his injuries and playing style

If big Z plays like he did most of the season it goes like this.
1.shaq
2.big ben
3.big z
4.Alonzo mourning (yeah i sed it)
5.yao 'butterfingers' (most likely 7footer to miss a layup) ming

If he attacks the basket, yeah i might take him over big ben, but if he chokes (like in the playoffs) id rather take darko!

By the way, this is all assuming that we call tim duncan a power forward, if he plays centre (which he did for a while) He is no.1 hands down.

you put ilgasukas before big ben thats crazy. hes an off injured back up at best the only reason why hes in the nba is because theres hardly any talented centers

Shaq
Yao
Z. Ilgoskas... I think.
Ben Wallace- no offense what so ever
Z played awesome in the reg. season, but in the playoffs he seemed really old, and tired. I think he is past his prime and the Cavs should keep their eyes open for another center.

probably 4th
1 Shaq, cuz he has a lot of experience
2 Big ben, cuz he was defnesive player of the year
3 Alonzo Mourning, cuz he blocks shots so much
4 Ilgauskas, because he is talented but he has a lot of of work to do to get more attention with lebron on his team.
