Relax and try to enjoy yourself. It would be a very nice gesture to bring a small gift. Maybe a nice bottle of wine or specialty food basket. Make sure that you offer to help his mom and laugh at his dad's jokes! Good Luck!

I would bring something like a bottle of wine, but make sure they drink wine before you bring it. You don't want to bring them something they won't enjoy. Also, you might talk to your boyfriend and on the way to his parents house, stop at a little diner or restaurant his parents like and pick up a pie or cake. Just remember that if you are the first girl his parents are meeting, you obviously are special to him, so just be yourself. Obviously it's good enough for him to think you're ready to meet them.
Good luck, safe trip, and have fun!

You should definitely bring them a nice gift, maybe ask your boyfriend what his mother is in to, or bring them something from your heritage that they could keep in their home. Don't be too nervous, because it shows, just keep calm and strike up conversations with them. Also if you wanted to be a bit manipulative then ask your boyfriend what his dad likes and just happen to mention it. Talk about your goals in life, but first talk to your boyfriend to make sure he is on the same level as you, and dress nicely. Good Luck in meeting them, and hope you are successful.

try to relax and be yourself and sure bring them something thats an ice breaker like something from californa that could be a topic talker. Sometimes when you meet parents there is an awkard silence so if you have something special from california you could present as I brought you guys all of you not just the parents soemthing from california. Good luck .

Check with your boyfriend - see what his parents would enjoy but definitely bring something. It's a great way to break the ice and gets you major points for being a thoughtful guest.
If you are important enough for him to bring home, then relax! He really cares for you!
Good luck!

Research the area and bring a local cheese, maybe combined with a local California wine , it gives you room for a possible pairing up on the cultures and compatibilities.

Midwesterners are more friendly people. Find out if they like wine, or something unique from where you live. A nice gift would be lovely and a very good first impression.

That's so nice that you think that way. By all means, a small gift would be a very nice gesture and they will be impressed. Flowers, or a potted plant. Or a cake or something from a bakery. Or chocolates.

yes, take something. I usually advice a nice desert on a beautiful plate they can keep, but that's won't work very well since you have to travel so far. Talk to your boyfriend. If they like wine, that's always a nice gift.
