I need the answer before I go to Somaliland.

ipods don't use replaceable batteries....you have to charge it. If the voltage in Somalia isn't 120 like in the US, you'll fry your ipod so a transformer might be necessary.

It charges throught the USB wire that goes to your USB port in any computer as long as its hooked up you can leave it or do other things on the comper and it will charge te wire should have come with it
if you don't know where to find a USB port then it might be on the front of the tower on your computer or the back it also could be on a box type thing you might have
added: you could also buy extra things so you can plug your ipod to a regular outlet or a car charger

You have to charge it by plugging it into a usb port on your computer, Or you can buy an adapter seperatly to use a regular power outlet.
