Athletes foot is usually a reflection of system candidiasis, which is the overgrowth of a naturally occuring yeast: candida albicans, as a result of antibiotic therapy (it could have been 10 years ago; the effects are culminative and not reversible without probiotic therapy and an elimination diet).
It would take care of the problem from the inside out. Look into the "Body Ecology" Diet, or the "Yeast Connection," though the later book has some misconceptions: fermented foods are bad, and don't eat yeast, for instance. These two recommendations have been disproven.

Athlete's Foot is an auto-immune deficiency. Some people can wear any type of shoe and never experience problems, while others react to everything. You can take the necessary measures to keep your feet treated with anti-fungal sprays and such but you also need to heal from the inside by removing fungus, bacteria, acid and free radicals from your system. Once your blood is alkaline, fungus can no longer grow. Once this happens, you will find you react less to the typical triggers of Athlete's Foot.

I got athletes foot one time by trying on shoes in a discount shoe store. Athletes foot is a fungus that grows in damp conditions. Tea tree oil is great for curing athletes foot. Keep your feet dry, don't let anyone else wear your shoes. Wear Leather not Plastic or Man made, wash your feet in soap that has tea tree extract, if you get pedicures make sure they put tea tree oil in the foot bath. Dry your feet well after showering use the oil and then peppermint lotion. Forget the otc stuff, it stinks worse than the feet. Tea tree oil will bring your feet back to normal. It will take a while for the complete transformation, but it is worth it. Good Luck.

Not drying your feet properly or washing your feet properly. You have to wash your feet as if you are washing your hands. And don't wear socks to bed.always let your feet air out before putting on socks.make sure you are wearing fresh socks daily, and if your feet sweat alot carry an extra pair of socks with you and change them through out the day.Fungi loves dark moist, warm places, and your feet are ideal growing places for them. Also, change your shoes, never wear the same pair everyday.rotate them throughout the week.
hope this helps.

it is caused by a fungus that lives in damp dark places, such as shower stall and such...you could be getting at the gym or anywhere. So when you go places like that had have to use the showers there, get some cheap rubber flip flops to wear so your feet aren't exposed.
