I love "love stories." I particularly love those in which the protagonist overcomes great adversity. Several of these are atypical love stories, or are not love stories at all, but rather, epics of survival in spite of poor odds. To choose a favorite among them would have broken my heart. By sharing this bittersweet list, I am sharing the essence of myself: a little sad, a little sweet.
