I wish I could afford to just buy new clothes so that I never have to do laundry again.

well if you didn't have so many skid marks and pecker tracks in your shorts to have to wash out by hand it wouldn't be so bad

It's not much fun but, what I do is take one day a week and get up early and just do it! If you cloths have been washed allot (like mine), I don't even separate color from whites and I have no problem..... Don't wait for every 2 or 3 weeks, then it is a real pain. Hope that helps some.

Just answered another just like this and I remembered this:

OK, here is the answer (if you have a little cash), go to any laundry mat that is close to you, most of them have people that will do your laundry for a small charge, they will fold and hang them for a little more. Check it out, I use to do it all the time, on a day off work and going shopping or to the bar(hehehe), drop them off, whooola, they are done when you are ready to go home. Hope that helps!

Doing laundry is such a pain in the butt because, well, it just is, that's all. First, sort, then carry, then place, then figure out the proper chemical additives to clean, then wait, then place (dryer), then wait, then wait some more ... then fold fold fold ... mate mate mate ... and that's only one batch ... (whites) ... then colors ... repeat the process ... it's awful just awful ... now ... my solution to all of this ...

Figure out your hourly wage ... what is your time worth per hour ...? Or better still figure out what your time is worth @ time and one-half. Hire someone to do your laundry ... some nice lady ... pay her your hourly wage ... give her a key to your home ... as she does the laundry ... she cleans your home ... you remain at work ... work overtime if necessary ... you are paying her your hourly wage to do your laundry and you are working time and one-half ... perhaps you can find someone to do your laundry for less than your hourly wage ... that way, you are really ahead ...

If you don't have a job ... find something that you like to do ... something that you will be paid to do ... and have someone do all of the pain in the butt things for you ...

That's what I do, silly ... I don't know how to do laundry ... not really ... and it is so lovely to have all of your beautifully folded things simply appear, all put away, clean, organized, kind of like 'magic' ...

Have fun doing the things you love, making money at the same time!!!

Laundry is only a pain if you don't do it when it needs to be done. I set aside 4 hours a week to make sure I get my laundry done. I do other things while doing the laundry like answering questions like this.

So it really isn't all that painful, just time consuming and people often get distracted with what they are doing rather than making sure the laundry gets done.

Laundry is a pain in the butt because everyday you wear clothes you are adding to the pile. It never ends. It's a viscious cycle, until the day you die. The only guarantees in life are death, taxes, and laundry. Sorry.

If washing machine was never invented, you would be doing it by hand, go broke, or wear the same clothes everyday.
Then your question will be 'Why is bathing such a pain in the butt?'

Don't let your laundry run over. Wash more often and it will not be so bad. When you let them pile up it becomes frustrating. The key is to do it a load at a time. Wash at least once a week. 7 to 10 outfits a week in one or two loads. 1 for colors and 1 for whites.

Much better to have laundry to be a pain in the butt than to not wash our clothes and have a smelly butt!!!

I must be weird because I actually like doing laundry. And I have to go to a laundromat, too. It gives me a chance to just chill out and read, without having people bugging me, and then my clothes are all nice and clean! =D

If doing laundry is a pain in the butt, you are doing it wrong!

It could be worse. At least we have washing machines and dryers. In some parts of Spain, they still do their laundry by hand in the river. Just feel lucky you don't have to do that!
