here are a few possible reasons why someone might revisit something:
(1) to keep the subject fresh in your mind, especially if they want you to do something.
(2) they could have forgotten themselves what they had already spoken about.
(3) there are folks who are in love with their own voice.
(4) maybe you didn't respond to it the way they wanted you to the first time around.
just a few ideas....

Some people lead boring lives, are lonely, don't get out too often and don't associate with many people. They can only talk about what they know, the same old conversation. If you get bored with the conversation just keep changing the topic, you never know they just might take a hint.

1) they didn't bother searching to see if anyone else has asked the question before
2) they didn't know about the search for questions
3) the search results did not have the answers they wanted
4) they wanted a newer, more up-to-date answer
5) laziness

Because with so many questions on here sometimes it's easier to ask the question then to search for it.
