It's raining and raini and raining. The creek is getting closer to the basement door. Will sand bags stop the water? Can you buy them?

It sounds like you are facing flood conditions. Sandbags will help keep out the water. They should be available at your local home improvement center. Check with your local fire department or other emergency agency, they may be available to you for free.

everytime i see sandbags i laugh. If you have that much water that you need sandbags to begin with, your in big trouble. Sandbags cannot keep all the water out,so eventually the water will indeed get to where you dont want it to go. better to buy a pump and a generator, and get a sheet of plastic tarp and toss dirt up against the door from the outside, that works just as fine as a sandbag.

It is not a total keep dry but will keep 90% of water out. yes you can buy them at a local material yard
