They never show doubles or even tell who won the events. I love doubles and am a tennis fan so when it rains why not show something new. I saw the matches over and over.

Long Live Doubles!

It's infinitely more enjoyable to both play and watch.

It's all about ratings. People know names of singles players. Not many know the names of doubles players. Sure, some of the well known singles players play doubles, but the truly dominate doubles players are not popular, e.g., Bryan brothers. More people will watch a replay of a singles game than a doubles game live.

I agree with x and bat.............The vast majority of "recreational" tennis players play doubles!!!! So why not more coverage?
There is so much more strategy involved with doubles, and any decent singles player will tell you that playing doubles will greatly help their singles play. I guess most viewers like the individual type of competition, rather than the team concept of doubles.
I just wish the Tennis Channel was available in more areas...

The ordinary American doesn't even know who the heck plays doubles. Networks see that so they won't show that. It's all about $$$. People want to see Nadal stretching, individually with those pants. Venus stretching in that skirt. No one wants to see Martina run back and fourth on 'her side of the court.'

Yes, this is pity. Doubles and mixed-doubles matches can be so much fun.
