First of all, I am engaged to be married next year. I love this woman with all my heart and she loves me too. But because of some dumb desicion I took before, I am about to go through hell. I love her enough to not want her to go through it. I need to end the engagement, and face my destiny alone. How do I do it?

You just need to tell her the truth and explain to her that while you love her deeply you want to spare her any pain by ending it now.

Tell her the whole thing, dumb decision and all. Tell her the nature of the hell you're about to go through. Tell her you love her with all your heart, so much so that you don't want to put her through it, and you want to release her from the engagement to spare her the agony you have to endure.

She will do one of two things:

1 - She will say, "You're right, that was incredibly dumb and you deserve to go through hell. Never speak to me again, and I'm putting your engagement ring on eBay tomorrow, you scum."

2 - She will say, "Oh my darling, how could you think I would desert you? You need me more than ever in this terrible time in your life and I will stand by your side no matter what."

Not sure what could be so bad, but if she loves you and you love her, that should be her choice if she wants to stick by you or not. I think you should discuss it with her, rather than break her heart and make her feel like she did something wrong. You could hurt her for no reason. It is a decision you both should make. Good Luck !!!!!!! I hope everthing turns out for you.

So without the specifics, no body would be able to give you their sincere opinion. You got someone p_____, right? This tends to be the most common excuse, even from a one night stand. So, you can just be honest, and see if she's willing to deal with your indiscretion before your commitment in marriage. Otherwise, you will be in agony from loosing her without giving her the benefit of doubt.

- Text message her the bad news (like a coward)
- Walk up to her and say, "I break with thee, I break with thee, I break with thee. Then throw dog poop on her shoes. (a-la Steve Martin, the former stand-up comic).
- Or you could just have a serious conversation with her. Tell her the truth, admit to what you did, take responsibility for your punishment, and tell her you care too much for her to put her through what's coming. You may be suprised at her reaction.

You don't provide any details so is difficult to assess the situation.

Be a man and tell the truth. There is no other way. Tell her that because you love her you are letting her go.

Be honest and tell her everything. You may be surprised and find out that she still wants to be by your side. If not, then that's the way it has to be and life goes on. At least you know you tried.

are you sure it's for her own benefit that you break up with her or do you want to keep mr. perfect image to her?

whatever it is she has the right to know, it's her decision too unless you slept with someone and got the girl pregnant or have aids, std, kill someone, then just tell her you are going to hell and you'll drop dead
