There are paid internships and unpaid internships. Sometimes at an unpaid internship they will give you a stipend for travel expenses, sometimes not. If no money was mentioned, that's a sign that this is an unpaid internship, but it never hurts to ask. Sometimes, you can start as an unpaid intern but later move into a paid position.

It depends on the internship, but normally interns are unpaid positions used to gain experience in that particular field and/or school credit.

It depends on the internship. If you're not getting paid (or at least a travel stipend) make sure you're getting credit for it if you're still in school.
(although if no one's mentioned to you how much it pays and you start in 2 days I would assume you're probably not getting paid)

it depends on the company - usually NO because working for them is already a big deal (it'll help your resume) - BUT, they might give you money for maybe lunch/money for the ride home/etc - don't think too much about the money part - it is more important that you actually learn from the internship - these experiences cannot be bought with money
