there was story on PBS in chicago (channel 11-tv) the yellow wallpaper and I did not see the end of it...it was kind of eerie...I 'm not sure if there was a book wrritten.

It's a short story. Standard reading in all college freshman english classes. It's a feminist tale about what happens when you lock a corset so tight on a woman that she cant breath, then call her weak and lock her up in a room whenever she faints.
