if a man declares feelings for you when drinking with you (already slept with him so it wasn't to get into bed) but then clams up and gets scared afew days later and freaks out and needs space - does the drinking theory still hold true? does the truth come out after a few drinks and then when reality sets in a guy can get scared of his feelings and what to do next?

maybe this will help.... we've been seeign each other a while and admittedly interested in each other - both are married so the situation is complicated. neither of us wants to leave our lives at this point or wants to the other to do so. a few days ago we/he got a little more serious (he started the conversation after we had a few drinks - though it has come up before) but then a few days later he freaked and needed space - said he got nervous after things got closer. what gives? could it be that he didn't expect to have these feelings and now is married and doesn't know what to do?

Would you really want a guy that only loves you when he's drunk?

My sentiments exactly! Then again, there are some of us who are afraid to deal with our true feelings. Some times it's because of being scared to be rejected. You can try to have a talk about what you got from the conversation and if you were right, what does he want to do about it now that it's in the open.

Not at all. Drinking simply disrupts the frontal part of the brain which is our inhibitions. So, he could be feeling amorous at the time and then realize that he doesn't feel that way sober. I would definitely NOT interpret it as he has feelings for you. He could be embarrassed that he said iit and what have you. IF he liked you, he would have called you and made it known that he wants to be with you, period.
