Just interested in knowing what you see from your perspective as opposed to me just totally not seeing as much racism from blacks -> any other races. This isn't a debate, I just want to understand.

I think that blacks CAN be racist. In fact I love my wife but she is when it comes to Asians for some reason. We will often fight about this as the ignorance is something that shouldn't be allowed.

Well, I had a black (muslim) girl tell me "white people are the devil". I was in a supermarket once, and watched as the black cashier pulled out a flyer for the store, then gave the black customer she was waiting on a coupon from it. When it was my turn and I asked to see the flyer, she told me to get my own. I worked at a company where not everyone had phones on their desks, and the black girl who had "control" over the phone for our area would not let any white person use it for private calls, yet all day she allowed black girls to use it for private calls. I have heard blacks saying that "white people are keeping them down" when they (the black people) were the ones that refused to learn to read and write. Need more examples?

Racism is viewing the world through a "filter" that pre-judges everything from a racial perspective. That is to say, you see an athlete performing, if you are a racist, would be "is he black?" If you see an actress or singer and your first concern is not "is she good?" but "is she black?" That is racism, pure and simple.
Yes, everyone has the propensity to be racist. Wise folks try to fight this tendency, knowing for the transitory cultural thing that it is.
Let me ask you, do you talk to blacks in a different vocabulary? What about grammar? Do you use the same sentence structure for all communication? Are there jokes you tell among your black friends that you would not tell if there was a white in the room?
If you answer "yes" to any of these, you are a racist. Deal with it. Outgrow it. Overcome it.

Blacks aren't racist, neither are Whites, Mexicans, etc. Individual people are racist, not the entire race.
I had an issue with being made fun of by a black girl because I was white. She was talking trash about my stringy blond hair and how I shouldn't be there because I was a stupid cracker. I didn't then think all blacks were racist and rude, just that one stupid girl.
I also had a problem in CA where they wouldn't hire me in the fields because I wasn't Mexican and I'm a girl, but this was a white boss doing it, so I don't know where that fits in.

Ultimately, racism is ridiculous. Why hate someone based on their color skin when individual people can give you so much more ammo to dislike them for. I say never dislike an entire group for any reason (unless it is a cult group and they have no individuals, then I can see going back on this rule).

Well, I certainly don't think that all black people are racist, or that people of other colors aren't racist, but I have noticed that racism is often "okay" when it comes from minorities. A lot of people let it slide when someone of a minority is racist against the majority, but go crazy when someone of the majority is racist.

I guess what I'm saying is that racism is wrong no matter what color the person it's coming from is, and that too many people seem to think otherwise. We've come too far for skin color to still be such an issue.

Just like all whites are not racist, all blacks are not racist. We do see less tolerance in the black community for other races. There was anger when vietnamese moved into the poor communities and established successful businesses. There is a New York City assemblyman who said he would walk across the street to spit in a white man's face. There are lots more, but these examples should give you an idea.

If you agree with Spike Lee, that racism is sociatal, then there are no racist blacks, just prejudiced blacks. But I don't agree with Spike. I think there are racist blacks, just as there are racists of every color.

I am a white man with two adopted daughters who are black, and I'm used to being stared at when we go out. I get the dirtiest looks from black people, but on the other hand, I get the nicest feedback from black people too.
Sorry for rambling!

It's virtually impossible for Afro-Americans to be racist against White America. To be racist means to be chauvinistic, bigoted, xenophobic, racialist, and racially prejudice. For the most part Afro-Americans don't hold heart to such nonsense. Besides when one is faced with the challenge of overcoming the previously listed obstacles; little time is left to project such piety desires. Furthermore; Afro-Americans have been thrusted without limitation, into world that either accepts or rejects them solely based on fears of the color of their skin. As this country debates on illegal aliens and immigrations issues; just remember, Afro-Americans are the only group of individuals, forced onto the country's soil. Yet the debate that Afro-Americans are racist is obscured. Should one assume now that the kid is the bad one; and the molester now the victim?

I do not think ALL black people are racists as I do not think ALL white people are racists.

There are some black people who have no problem being my friend and talking to me when it is just them and me. When there are other black people around, they treat me quite differently. I believe they are afraid of not being "black enough".

I do not believe society OWES anyone anything. There seems to be a huge chip on some people's shoulder. Granted there have been times and still are times when life has been totally unfair. You've been wronged. Let me let you in on a little secret. Life is unfair to white people also. You can use anything as a crutch to be bitter and angry or as a motivator to make this world better for you AND me.

First of all, a statement like "blacks are racists" is rather illogical. It assumes that a particular attitude is shared by all black people. To that extent it is not only illogical, but also racist.

The statement "some blacks are racists" might be more easily defended, but we would have to know which blacks are referred to. It might be helpful to support the statement with some verifiable data.

Before we go much further, of course, we'd have to know what the person making the statement meant by "racist."

Without that information, the statement is meaningless.

They probably mean it in a different way SOME black people are offended by white racist people so it tends to make them jealous or nervous around them. And they might say rood things about white people but just meaning there racist, but not all white or black people are racist some were just raised different, but either way its not right to think different of others just by there skin color ever body is created equal.
