In adobe I am trying to turn my grey scanned image lines black. I turn threshold all the way up, but when I hit "ok", it turns back to grey. What do I need to do? Ultimitly I want the lines on a seperate layer.

I'm not sure what way you are adjusting the threshold so let's try it this way

With the image open
Createa a new threshold adjustment layer (half black circle under layers palette)
Adjust slider until threshold shows currect view (preview needs checked)
Then click ok

I can't tell from your question if you mean Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator, or what. If you are using Photoshop, try adjusting the contrast using the Curves tool (image>adjust>curves)- then use the magic wand tool to select your lines, and copy and paste them to a new layer.
