I personally would not own an salt water tank.. i have a 55 galloon freshwater tank, and it is low maintence.. salt water tanks take alot of work and time and not to mention expensive.. you have make sure the balance of water is good all the time and it is harder to clean.. my friend has a salt water tank and she always says they are alot of work.. plus she spends $50 on fish that die..

Salt water tanks can be inexpensive, but also expensive.

If you do fish only, and get some simple somewhat hardy fish, it's not ttoooo horribly bad. Actually it's not bad at all.

But if you get into live coral and others - definitely not for me.

Maybe when I'm retired and loads of money and time on my hands... actually.. no.. even then, I'd pay somebody to take care of it for me! LOL.

I have small 60 gal. freshwater tank. I love it. Once every three months I change 25-30% of the water. Once every two months I might find a spec of algae on the glass.. so I clean it. It's cool.

The fish are one thing ,absolutley stunning, but the cost!
Live coral is probably the biggest cost of all, they dont start cheap
