A nerd is just what jealous people call others. I make all A's, balance extracurriculars, intend to go to a nice college, climb the corporate ladder, have a family, but, most importantly, follow what God wants me to do, and if that means doing none of what I listed, then I'll just deal with it.

Now, do I sound like a nerd? If I do, well, then, I'm not worried. Being a 13-year-old nerd is fun!

The difference between being smart and being a nerd is how you are perceived on a social level. "Nerds" tend to be soooooo enthralled with a subject that they know every damn thing there is to know about it, and they ponder over it endlessly ... thus having no social skills. A smart person is just smart, has more knowledge on more levels that most people, can function, is not confined to a stereotypical image, and most of, can be social, funny, witty, and crazy all at once.

when you get into college everyone will want to be around you because you are smart. you will be the one with the best job when you get out of college because youll be the one smart enough to make it through very dificult course work. so dont worry about being a nerd now. and just so you know....when you get to college, women always seem to want the "nerds" more than the guys who used to be the popular kids in high school.

like yeah!
you can be smart and cool(like your the hotttest dude and youre the star player of the soccer team and answer all the equations)...

Being nerd is not always smart. Some nerds are just video game addicts, fashionably flushed people, or just someone who thinks jessica simpson is the smartest girl in the world...

Yes, absolutely. It comes down to a question of social skills, how well they get along with people around them. In fact, it's much better than being cool and stupid. Most people would like to have smarter friends, it's just that the smart kids often aren't very fun to hang out with because they spend their time learning other things. And don't be afraid to do something stupid (not dangerous, but stupid. Swimming in a creek in your underwear in the middle of the night = stupid. Heroine = dangerous AND stupid. See the difference?) just because sometimes it's fun.

Yes, but only if they go about it the right way. They must have other activities they enjoy than just reading and studying and they shouldn't brag about their IQ or test scores. Otherwise they are nerds.
