In Plato's dialogue the Theaetetus (Theætetus), Socrates considers a number of definitions of knowledge. One of the prominent candidates is justified true belief. We know that for something to count as knowledge it must be true and be believed to be true (see section on defining belief in Epistemology, below). Socrates argues that this is insufficient; in addition one must have a reason or justification for that belief.

One implication of this definition is that one cannot be said to "know" something just because one believes something that subsequently turns out to be true. An ill person with no medical training, but a generally optimistic attitude, might believe that she will recover from her illness quickly. But even if this belief turned out to be true, on the Theaetetus account, the patient did not know that she would get well because her belief lacked justification.

Knowledge, therefore, is distinguished from true belief by its justification, and much of epistemology is concerned with how true beliefs might be properly justified. This is sometimes referred to as the theory of justification.

Knowledge is an illusion - no one can really Know anything.

Knowledge is considered to be Justified True Belief. But the utilisation of knowledge is based on memory

eg. You know that the sun will rise in the morning because in you memory it has always risen in the morning.

Unfortunately all memory is Fallible so any knowledge which is used from memory is suspect and could be wrong. If Knowledge could be wrong then it cannot be considered knowledge and must be considered belief.

Therefore no one can truly know anything, they can only believe.

Knowledge is based on principles born out of study and observation. It is reason defined. There can be true knowledge and there can be false knowledge but it is different from information in that information about something or pure data in itself does not constitute knowledge, it is the study of information or data which could give knowledge about something. Humans have the natural quest for knowledge unlike animals who act on natural instinct so humans study their environment, make out the reasons behind any phenomena, classify it as knowledge and store it for future use and further refinement. Knowledge has no limits and it is only our limit which defines to what extent we can understand things around us, life, universe and nature.

SENSOR arrays collect what they OBSERVE in a chosen arena.
That's called: DATA.
Next, processors SORT extrapolated data into a more categorical library ORIENTATION.
That's called: INFORMATION.
When a guiding set of VALUES and/or PRINCIPLES assigns relative MEANING to any percentage of that info-DATA-BASE, it's
THAT evaluative DECISION that transforms information into:
. . . K N O W L E D G E ! ! !
...which alone is NOT optimally effective unless combined
with WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING.
GOD gave King Solomon ALL THREE because he ASKED for it while loving GOD & keeping HIS commandments.
GOD's standards are the total opposite of man's standards.
Mankind's fake versions of what he THINKS are wisdom, strength, and nobility are actually utter STUPIDITY. Without a deep love for and reliance upon GOD, we usually end up scientifically conceited idiots spouting fads we believe to be facts like "The world is flat" or "The universe revolves around me".
Relying on our own strengths or talents to get by, yields falling flat on our faces time & time again, and or becoming the "hottest" richest celebrity & still living desperately empty & unfulfilled existiences wondering "is that all there is....? while materially, or medically distracting our way thru life without any REAL fulfillment. REAL peace of mind is internal, unshakeable, & totally NOT dependent on favorable outer-circumstances that are less reliable than a weatherman's forecast.
Knowledge Reigns Supreme over nearly everyone, according to Blast Master KRS ONE.
Admitting that we actually know NOthing...? now THAT's REAL KNOWLEDGE !

Know thy self. The only meaning of knowledge as a Key. Other knowledge is collection of organized and disorganized thoughts, manifestation of which we can observe outwardly.

Knowledge is power. So then, power is in the mind - not in the fist. Look at it from the other angle ... knowledge is understanding the world / universe we live in.
