If you need to use the floppy but dont want to invest in a new one the answer is YES>
All you have to do is access the inside of the computer and disconnect the ribbon cable and power cable.
Remove the four screws that hold it in the case.
Depending on the model of drive it is, either take the screws that hold the plastic front on the floppy and remove it. That should get you to the point where you can see inside of it and use tweezers to gently remove the metal piece that came off (Been there, done that)
Reverse the process to reinstall, but leave the side of the case open. If the piece has ruined the drive by hitting something or bending something, test it first before reassembling your case or youll have to do it all over again.

If your computer has a USB 2.0 Port you should consider buying a flash drive. They are very cheap nowadays and have a lot more memory than floppy disks. For reference, a 2 GB USB flash drive can hold about 250 songs in MP3 format.

If your good with tiny screwdrivers. Those floppy drives are going out of style, so why bother. My last computer I built, I didn' put in a floppy drive.

I agree, you should be fine without one. The computer I use which i've had for just over 2 years doesn't have one and i've never even needed it either =] and DJ Kaddafi is right, flash drives are great! ^^

Try carefully taking the cpu apart, with help, and see if you can get to the area to take it out.
