wake up............don't be stupid, it's not someone's money, it is probably from something illegal, and lucky you has it, uncaught, undetected. It's not like there is an address on it or it was in a purse or wallet. I would try out a few bucks to make sure it is real, stash it someplace safe, tell no one. Slowly convert it to something that makes you feel safer about it. But once again, tell no one......or wake up, which ever applies. And don't listen to the suckers who try and tell you to turn it in. It isn't the Church's Bingo money. Have you seen anything in the paper about missing money? No? Now you know why. BTW, stay away from wherever you found it. Enjoy. If you feel bad about it, I know a charity that could use it, no kidding, no rip off. I'll give you an address, it is an inner city mission.

Put it back where you found it. Why? 1) It's not yours. 2) If you keep it, there are so many things that can happen bad to you I don't have time to list them. 3) If you turn it into the police, you may do some one good, but a) David Letterman may call you an idiot on national television; b) you might get all/some of it back, but that will be picked up by the media, which will make your life a living hell. Yep, put it back. Final answer.

turn in to the police. If you keep it, it is not like anyone is not going to notice you all of a sudden have a lot of money. Too obvious. If you turn it in, you're a hero, saved someones ***. It will come back to help you later on. You'll be toted as a good person. That is worth more than money. And if no one claims it, its yours!

If you're serious than go to the bank and sign out a safety deposit
box. Put the money in that for now, leave it there for at least a year.
Then you can look into investments, maybe you should consider
overseas banking as well.

Well if you were any kind of a decent person, you would turn it in to the police. After seeing the nasty comments you just gave to that girl asking how she can trace a prank call, I'll just bet you'll try to keep the money.

assuming you're actually serious lets think. who would actually HAVE 500,000 dollars in cash with them at any given time? 1. mobsters, 2. drug lords, 3. the government, basically you're screwed so id get rid of it as soon as possible.

It is probably drug money. Go to the police and make sure you get a receipt. If it isn't claimed, you will get it. Call the DA's office first and you may want to talk to a lawyer. You need to protect yourself.

Turn it in to the cops.
If it's mafia money, you have about 24 hr to live. You should have left it right where it was.
BTW - I don't believe you. Seriously, I don't. Good question though.
