I had my baby in March, just recently I started getting really tired and feel nauseous all the time. I got my period in May and now I haven't had one for June. I'm breastfeeding and on the mini pill I missed two pills in a row and took a pregnancy test(negative). Am i just tired or should I be worried?

If you're on the mini pill and missed 2 pills in a row, you were almost certainly no longer protected by the hormones. It is *only* effective if you take it every day at the same time of day. This doesn't mean you are necessarily pregnant. In fact, if your baby is fully breastfed, you are likely not fertile even without using any birth control. Breastfeeding alone is *more* effective than almost any form of birth control for the first 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding (unless you have had a period, which you can't know because you were taking the Pill).

Wait another week and take a pregnancy test. That's the only way to know.

New mommy fatigue or baby blues are both good answers. To know whether they are the Right answers, though, you should visit your doctor. Especially if this is your first baby, I would be surprised if you weren't tired. Not only has your body recently gone through the physical trauma of birth, but your schedule has changed completely, you're probably not getting enough sleep, and you probably hold yourself to some expectations that you may not be meeting. Having some help around the house will help a little, but don't expect to catch up all at once.

The most important advice I think any new mother can take is to Sleep When Your Baby Sleeps. Unless your baby is sleeping through the night already, Do Not take that time to catch up on housework. You need to be healthy to take care of your baby well, and loosing sleep is not the way to be healthy. Leave the housework for your help, or when your baby is awake and happy. You and your baby are your first consideration right now.

And congratulations! :-)

When your breastfeeding you will miss periods from time to time. If you took a pregnancy test and it came out negative then i wouldn't worry about being pregnant. make sure you are still taking your prenatal vitamins while you breast feeding and eat a healthy diet. That could be what is causing it. Also wait another two weeks and take a pregnancy test again. If it comes out negative then you are not. Make sure you speak with your doctor too if you do not feel right.

Congratulations on the baby! How wonderful.

I think you are tired out! It is very unusual to get a period just four months into nursing, so you may have an iron deficiency that it making you feel even more worn out.

I hope you have a mother or mother-in-law who can come in to give you break one or two days a week. Your husband should also take over completely for a minimum of three hours on Saturday and Sunday.

New mothers need rest. I hope you get some.

When you breastfeed you can have irregular periods. Take another test in a week or so to be sure. It can take up to a year for your hormones to get back to normal. That can also make you tired not to mention you won't feel rested for quite some time after you give birth. My baby is 7 months old and it took me until she was at least 5 months to start feeling full of energy.

Having a baby is a tiring thing! Even months later, you could be tired from looking after junior. I wouldn't worry too much. Breastfeeding is almost a natural birth control, so even if you missed a couple of pills, you're probably okay.

You should probably contact your doctor to find out whats going on. There is a posibility that you could be pregnant again, the hormones from breastfeeding could give you a false negative, or it may just be that you are tired. I was tired the first 5 months after I had my daughter. But just to be on the safe side I would check in with your doctor. :)

Good Luck, and congratulations on becoming a mom :D

I had my baby in March as well. I'm breastfeeding and on the minipill. I'm tired and nauseous sometimes, too. I think it might be new mommy syndrome. Just to be on the safe side, take another pregnancy test in a week or so. That'll let you know, or to be absolutely sure, go to the doc.

I just went through the same thing. I thought I was pregnant again too...Now that my baby is about 10 months old it is getting better and I have a lot more energy now, but I have only had 3 periods and they have been VERY irregular and I have taken about 4 tests just to be sure. This will pass, promise...good luck!

Being a new Mom takes a lot out of you, especially if you breastfeed. I had my daughter on Halloween 2005, and I was tired for about 4 months on and off. Just make sure to eat right and keep taking your pre-natal vitamins :)
Have fun!
