I am writing a paper on the above. I am looking at Canadian Idol (win record deal - job recording artist) Canada’s Next Top Model (win a modelling contract - job is model), Hell’s Kitchen (win own restaurant - job is chef).

What does it say about our society that reality TV is being used to compete for employment?

that it is a competitive society just like before, its just being televised now. Society has always been dog eat dog but now they are just showing it on TV. Just like the hurricanes, there have always been hurricanes but now they are making a big ta da about them because they are on TV no one cares or seems to notice things until its on TV! Anyway thats just my opinion

Very little seeing that in the entire world only a handful of jobs will be given in this manner .. it is meaningless in any real way.
