As many others have mentioned, go with Linksys. Not only are they a division of Cisco (who dominates most markets/technologies in which they play) but Linksys has become the dominant, preferred solution worldwide for wireless, ethernet and VoIP for SOHO small office home office environments. Many others will argue about the tradeoffs with price, support and features. At the end of the day, Linksys is your best overall solution in most cases.

The brand name is not as important as reliability, features and price. You should be looking for wireless router that can do WPA encryption, not WEP only. You'll probably want other features like firewall, easy loggings, site/parental blocking, etc.
You can read review of reliability off the web.
I have motorola wireless router, paid $10 and has all the above features. You can get similar D-link, Linksys, and others. Linksys is very pricy though.

Linksys is a good solution for home use... just make sure that you understand what is supported by both your adapter and your wireless access point.
If you are looking for more secure solutions you can look at the newer offerings from Linksys, D-Link or SMC... all of which have products supporting WPA and WPA2 security which is more secure than WEP... but again you have to make sure that you can use the features provided (my TiVO won't work with anything other than WEP encryption).
In either case... here are some tips to help you protect your wireless network... http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wirelesssecurity/tp/wifisecurity.htm... While there are more things you can do to enhance your security, these will provide a higher level of security to your network than the default settings.

D-Link G. I've had problems with Linksys-B and Netgear-B. Netgear G is kinda funny. D-Link G, never had any problems. Though if you want to spends some cash, i've seen a Linksys N router out. Looks spiffy.

I am using Dlink at home without problem. But in Office with bulk wireless traffic it kind of bogs down. Few of my friends have Linksys without issues.

Linksys. The prices are great and so is the support. I called in once but got disconnected accidentally; they called me the next day making sure everything was OK.
