I have worked very hard to make something of myself -- went back to college makde perfect grades and developed a strong work history. But I have a mark on my criminal record and every time I get to the top of thie list for a great new job, suddenly they don't call. I can only think it is the record -- what do I do?

Hang in there. You'll find the right job for you with a boss that does'nt judge you by your past. Don't give up. Hard work will be rewarded eventually. Everyone gets what they deserve in the end. Good luck in your future ventures.

If the "mark" is a felony...it is very hard to live that one down. If it has to do with $$$ and you are in the $$$ field, they will not trust you. Have you "pulled" the record lately? Check into it as if you are a potential employer. See what they see then decide how to "correct" the problem.

It depends on what you did and what position your are apply for. For example, if you rob a store or bank or something and you are appling for a job where you would be around money, then don't expect for somone to hire you too quick. Just be patient someone will finally give you a break. Try putting in applications in everywhere so yo will have somewhere to start from.

I don't even have a criminal record (that I know of, unless some vengeful person out there hates me and has posted something) AND STILL CANT GET A GOOD JOB. Don't feel so bad.
