Christian Americans should vote, run for office, support politicians and any thing any other American does. The separation of church and state does not mean if you have spiritual beliefs you can not be a active citizen. I am not a theologian just a Christian citizen who votes.

Since I doubt you will find any noted theologians frequent this site, I will try to answer it as an utterly unknown person of dubious beliefs.

Your question actually asks what role should 'Christians' play, and not 'Christianity'. As such I would have to say Christians should play as active of a role as catholics, agnostics, atheists, muslims, scientologists, and any other belief holder - the conglomeration of backgrounds assists the government in being representitive of the people in terms of diversity.

If you are referring to their belief systems, those have no business in directly defining our government. It is grossly arrogant to attempt to require one group of people to think as another group does, as well as an excercise in futility. There are plenty of other countries that go that route, and they spend so much time tripping over their own feet trying to make sure everyone thinks (at least outwardly) the way they want, that their forward progress is almost nil.

Christians should play no role in the politcal process. Remember there is supposed to be a seperation between church and state.
