Yes it is likely that he was a homosexual although the primary source evidence is not totally conclusive. Many academics agree that he may have been gay. There is documentary evidence that a man thought to be da Vinci was arrested on suspicion of sodomy but the evidence does not say it was definately Leonardo. You must remember that in history we talk of likelihood rather than cold hard fact. We weigh up the evidence and produce possibilities.

Leonardo only named Leonarda (da) is (from) and (vInci) is the town he was from.
Some thought he might of been because of the company he kept while traveling.

Is is nearly impossible to know if he was gay unless there is written proof, his art work was like that of many others of his period, it doesnt mean he was gay.
