This could be plantar fascitis and/or heel spurs.
You can look it up at WebMD.
They have recommended treatment too.
You might want to have a doc check it out.

Sounds like plantar fasicitis. It is an over extension of the fascia band that runs underneath your foot. The band starts in the heel and it terminates under your big toe. Stretching the foot by pulling the toes up and towards your torso while trying to extend your heel away from you helps as does doing circles with your ankles ( don't do both exercises at the same time ! ). Ice helps, too. Supportive socks that have an elastic band around the arch of the foot might help. Try http://www.footsmart.com for some devices. If none of this helps, see a podiatrist ( a foot specialist physician. ) For immediate pain relief, the doctor can give you a cortisol shot in your heel.

Keep it warm. You like me, are getting older every day, and the Achillies tendon is starting to get a few little nodules on the inner rod, which moves inside the outer sheath (think rod attached to heel, moving in pipe from calf muscles. Now put some knobbly bits of ossifying tissue on the rod, and you have a problem moving it about in the pipe, don't you?) Bed socks, a good hot bath if it's hurting, the nodules will get worse when it's cold. Massage can be very painful, with limited relief.

Pain in the heal is associated with extra growth of bone and the disease is knows as "Calcaria Spur". The pain is severe when you get up from the bed in the morning but will vanish after you walk a little. some time it remains throughout. There is no cure for this disease with Orthopaedic surgeon. Press the tip of your ring and middle fingers of the affected heel for 5 to 10 minutes daily on empty stomach in the morning and evening. The finger tips will hurt but after pressing them for some time, you will feel relief. Give hot water fermentation adding some cooking salt twice a day. I am sure your pain will vanish within few days of pressing fingers. I have cured many patients suffering from similar ailments. If you are obese, try to reduce weight and correct your constipation. If you trust my words, please feel free to write to me on close2health@yahoo.com for further help. Best of health.

YES! I HAVE THIS!!! You need to relax your toes , then pull back on them, easily, and let them relax some more. Hold that .
Then do it again. Do it everyday after you get home. Could be a bone spur in your heel, but the plantar whatever in your foot----this stretches the bone thing that connects your ball of your foot to the heel. You need to stretch it by this exercise. You may need to check out the doctor.

Sounds like a heel spur....The dr will give you anti-inflammatory meds such as Aleve, ibuprofen, Naprosyn and also give you stretches to do for your foot. (standing on edge of a step and liffting up onto ball of the foot, or writing the alphabet with your foot) Try to do the stretches BEFORE you get out of bed..it helps some.
