You'd be able to do what you wanted. And so would everyone else.

Not bad, except for the killers, rapists, theives, and bullies who got to do what they wanted to.

Then all the weak people would get together and decide to gang up on the bad guys by punishing anyone that killed, raped, stole, or bullied.

It'd work great for a while until some philosopher who's too lazy to live his own life decides to tell everyone else how to live their life and gets his friends to bully more people on to his side if his promises of rewards and gifts aren't enough, resorting to punishing not only killers, rapists, theives, and some bullies, but also those that stray from his way.

A little while after, someone would ask "how would it be if we didn't have laws?"

Pretty chaotic. Plus, the "evil" few who are ok breaking even "moral" and innate laws will be the ones running everything. Not too much unlike now, but at least there are rules for the thugs to follow.

The world would be worse than this. Some persons who would really want to shoot someone or do something worse is refrained from doing so because they know that every broken law has a consequence.

I'll tell you of a little experiment by the Germans (they are always good for that)......there is a major highway in German called the Autoban. On this highway, there are no speed restrictions placed by the govt. and motorists can drive as fast or as slow as they wish. Do you know that......this is the safest highway in all of Europe with the least no. of accidents. Just goes to show that when you place pple responsbile for their own behaviour, there is a strong likelihood that they may be conscious of behaving "correctly".

Ever seen Mad Max? The Tribe? Even Soylent Green? Add those together, along with prisoners from a super-max, and that's the sugar-coated version.
