As you know, we live on a four dimensional universe, so, being time the fourth dimension, this question depends on the filling-emptying process: If you start with an empty glass and fill it to half its capacity, it is a half-full glass. If you start with a full glass and drink from it, by the time you drank half of its contents, you've got a half-empty glass.

Hope it helps.

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Yes, it is - depending, of course, on whether you're a pessimist or an optimist

trick question, but the correct answer is based on whether you are filling the glass or emptying the glass.
half full if you are filling it.
half empty if you are emptying it.
other considerations would also include:
what is the glasses capacity and how much is actually in it.show us this glass so we can give proper study to the problem.

Meaningless. You should always be striving to add more to the glass, so the starting point is irrelevent. Which is why a famous philosophy advises that you always regard your life as an empty cup, so that you will always have room for more.

Attempting to answer this question hinders your ability to seek fulfillment in life.

I'm going to say this only once, so pay attention : The glass contains half the amount of fluid it could possibly hold.

It's half empty if I drank half, and half full if I'm filling it. :)
