Are they just going for publicity or are they truely that evil and hate us that much. I know people do things out of pride or fear, but I can't understand it, the cruelty in this act. Is it a sign of the times?
I believe it is. I know that the time is coming near, just look at what the Bible says about Israel. When they split the land, I believe the count down began. I pray that if you are in question of your salvation, you act now. I pray that you become just as convinced at the coming of the Lord soon, as I am. I also pray that you tell others that they must make sure they know where they are going to go when the time comes. Even if you don't believe in Jesus, you need to study this for yourself, not taking others advice. You should find out what you believe deep in your heart of hearts. Find out what you can do to make sure that you know where you will be going when the time comes, and you hear the trumpet and look up. If you deal with this now, there's no more fear.

It's an historical thing. They have always done it. Not sure of the details but it is part of their culture to behead enemies. Nothing new or media related. There are far worse cultural practices than beheading. Try boiling your enemy over a few days or eating their main organs while they are alive - beheading isn't that bad in the bigger picture.

Beheading is the oldest form of execution for Muslim countries, with the exception of stoning for adultery. If you kill, you're beheaded. If you steal, they cut your hand.
