Scandium has 2 valence electrons and Bromine has 1. They share 1 electron, so you write down Sc and Br about 1/2 inch apart. Draw two dots on the right side of Sc and one dot on the left side of Br. Connect the Br dot and Sc dot. It's a bond, covalent i think. It's been a while.
