If you're talking about pop-up messages from websites, adware, or spyware, using a combination of SpyBot Search & Destroy and AdAware will eliminate the spyware. As far as the net goes, you can turn off pop-ups on most browsers by configuring their settings.

If, however, you're talking about pop-up spam messages from Windows Messenger, go to http://www.grc.com and download 'Shoot the Messenger'. It will disable this hideous creation and free you from any more pop-ups.

Install Spybot Search and Destroy. Install it, then look for updates, then immunize, then run a scan. It will clean up a lot of spyware.

Just download google/yahoo/msn toolbar.
Or turn on pop up blocker of Internet explorer from its settings.

go to www.download.com

search for adaware

download the free version

go back and search for spybot and download the free version

unconnect your computer from the internet and run first adaware and then spybot and your computer will be free of those malware on your computer

be sure to run both at least once a week.

install yahoo toolbar or google toolbar with pop up blocker.in case using xp install/upgrade to SP2 which contains pop up blocker.
