no, I think it is whan you draw a diagram showing the outer electrons. It usually is shown with little dots or x's representing each electron. Try this link;

Copper has two valence electrons, but since this ion is positive, that means it is giving an electrons away, which would form an ionic bond, but you didn't ask about a bond.

Draw Cu with a dot on its right side. The right side, I designate as my s-sublevel side.
