Just like the saying that the victors write history, it is men who have traditionally been the members of society allowed to write -- whether it was the Bible or dramatic arts, novels, or more recently, films and television. Call it the old boys network, or whatever you like, the obvious foil in such instances is women. As more and more women write, direct, and create, I think you'll see a more even-handed approach, and more men being depicted as the villains.

Hate to point this out to the detriment of my fellow men, but if you read the text closely, Adam was right there with her and didn't do a thing to protect her. Also, Pharoah and all the babies he slaughtered in Egypt, King Herod and all the children under four that he slaughtered in Israel. Male Jewish priests and Roman consuls that ordered the death of Christ. I'm only starting with Biblical references since that's what you started with but should I go into other cultures history books? I could right all day.
Fact is, all humankind has the potential for all kinds of evil and the potential to do good. It all comes down to freewill. Reminds me of the old joke:
God says to mankind at the begining of creation "I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is I've given you all free will. The bad news is I've given you all free will."

Don't forget about Pandora, Delilah, and Salome! Incidentally, Pandora is the only one of those who actually does the major evil herself. The rest convinced their men to do evil things. Masterminded the crimes if you will. Smart men have long been wary of women's ability to manipulate men. Wary, but not wise because it continues to happen. The good news, is it isn't all evil. Biblically, check out the stories of Esther and Deborah. Then there's also the stories of real-life women who've accomplished great things- Grandma Moses, Susan B. Anthony, Etc.
It isn't just women who've been portrayed as evil throughout history. So has everyone else. Also, not all women were portrayed as evil. Read up on Elizabeth I. The idea of "women are only portrayed as evil" is feminist propaganda to reinforce the idea that it's been men all along keeping men subjugate (and not their own mothers), and unfortunate, because it buries the stories of great women who don't fit into that line of thought.

First of all, women represent aproximately 50% of the possible suspects here folks. Also, you just gave two examples of women portrayed as "evil" Obviously we could both come up with schlagillions of others from both genders. Lets use Kane, and Iago, to keep pace. My point is, as far as playing a number's game, we can't really know who is getting the supposed raw end here. I think if we are talking as you are, about literature, it does us well to realize that a woman or a man symbolize represent things, roles, and archetypes. Understanding what each author is working with, and what sociological structures inform his writing helps us grasp what a particular work is trying to do.

simply put, in modern and only recent human history, men pulled a ku against female authority and subjugated women. In order to
justify this, women have to be diabolized. Its a logic circuit stemming from the patrifocal religions and the idea that women should be the property of men. Women are diabolized because
otherwise there wouldn't be a justification for that.

Don't forget Pandora! Men recount that story like the one of Eve as women loosing evil on the world. However, neither woman created evil, and neither started the chain of events that led to it's unleashing. Stories like this reveal men's views of women in society. Men are afraid of women's power, differences, what they don't understand, what they can't have, rejection, etc.

Because the men who created those perceprtions were probably scorned by a woman, because he was a lousy person. It's not our fault men are so dumb, I mean Adam didn't need to eat that apple. And why put a tree with fruit in the middle of a garden when you aren't allowed to eat it? Come on!

You forgot Margaret Thatcher, she's evil too. I guess it's because they sit at home all day drinking Sherry and dreaming up ways to be horrid to their husbands...that kind of thing. Think about the caveman days, hunter gathere instinct, you come home and she's not even bothered to do her hair up nice while your dragging a gazelle up the hill for dinner. Then you get married and five minutes later, you've got a fat bird on your hands. And why do women always cry in films...ask yourself that one. James Kirk, he always pulled a bird in every episode, those space slappers, marriage wreckers, you've only got yourselves to blame.

Because we are the all powerful.... you would think after decades upon decades of reading and writing about it men would get it! I mean everything that means anything to them, IE their cars, are referred to as female. As are the most breathtaking boats to the smallest most reliable ones, all are female and if they aren't treated right.... they can severely hurt them! Everything is female because, whether they know it or not, woman really do control everything they do. Even gay men can't help but have a female confidant! Sub consciously they know that we control them and they consider us evil for it.

Women love to dominate look at Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister over here the UK that ***** threw her weight around.
Also in the bedroom women moan about how their ex was much better than u or he had a much larger penis than you, and if you go shopping you always see a poor man dragged around from shop to shop with his girlfriend's shopping in both hands.
