For the most part, Americans and Middle easterners dont care much for each other. I know some Iranians, they are awesome people. But in America you have to gain their trust since the whole 9-11 thing. We American tend to pile all people from that portion of the world into one big ugly pile. As far back as time goes the middle east has always been a point of contention and unrest. The people there seem to thrive on war, murders, killings, etc... Sad but true. I hope the best for you! Good luck!

Honey, your history is not who you are. Plus, there are a lot of really good people in Iran. Be proud of who you are and where you came from. There is nothing wrong with being an Iranian girl. Dear, you need to build up some positive self esteem. Do not listen to all the hate mongers who have to have somebody to look down on in order for them to feel better about their own lives, which are usually unhappy. Just be happy to be alive, healthy and enjoy our teenage years. Don't worry so much and try to just have some clean fun while you finish growing up. It is not about your ancestry, it is all about how you conduct yourself, act with honor and integrity. You are how you act, not who you were born to, or where you were born. Blessed Be.

I am a student in UK and i come from India.I dont know what it is like in UAE but in Britain if you immigrate and have a good talent you may land up at a good position.Other western countries like US are more open to Immigrants in terms of racial acceptance. But as such you are certainly not a misfit as far as social acceptance comes from both the sides.Rare incidences may happen making you feel foriegn but that is something probably you may have to live with.Bigger cities are more tolerant than smaller ones.So make friends dont think you are different.

If you've been friendly with the same people for a long time, they should think of you as being from the same country as they are. For instance, your classmates know you have been around for years, and your friends do to.
There are still foolish people who do consider others by their religion, race, ethnic group, etc. But anyone who is a friend, would not do that.

There is nothing wrong with you. Most Iranians are cool people. Just the religious and political leadership are bastards, just like in the USA.

Marsha,
If you have never been to your own country, people would have to accept you at face value. Many people here don't know many Iranian people. We mostly get a view of the country through our country's propaganda, so who you project is all we would have to go by.

I do not judge based on nationality, race, sex, or anything thing else that is physical. What really matters is the kind of person you are.

I wouldn't judge you any different than if you were from any other country.
Just because your president is about as popular as ours (USA) doesn't mean you suck too.
You are probley a very nice girl.
