Why should the government pay for people to sit around and watch TV all day?

I bust my butt all day down here at the Wal-Mart just to keep a roof over my families head. Why should my taxes pay for some lazy inner city bum to sit on her bum all day and do nothing but watch Tyra Banks all day. That is not fair. Kick out the Mexicans like Argentina did and give all the jobs to the welfare thieves in the city.

I agree with you. On my way to work every day, I stop at a mini mart to get a morning paper and a Dr. Pepper. And every day, at 11am, there's guys-big strong strapping your fellows, buying their 40's and drinking them behind the store. What kind of person is already drinking at 11am on a Monday?

When my hubby and I first got married, we ate PB&J on white bread and vienna sausages most days. I had a weekly grocery allowence of $50.00 for two people and two cats. One day while buying mac & cheese, I was behind two women buying ten live maine lobsters...with food stamps. You wanna talk about some body getting pissed off!?! I don't know who was more angry, the cashier or me.

And for the record...my hubbs and I are not min wage earners. He is an electrician, I am a disc jockey. We work. Every one should. Even those with disabilities have SOME ability to contribute something.

Welfare sucks.

The government sometimes pays to help people survive when they are unable to work, but it has nothing to do with thier ability to watch television. Even people in hospitals can watch TV although most of them cannot work!

If you work at Walmart and have a family, you're probably not paying very much into taxes to begin with so stop your bitching.

Things are better than you think. You will probably be very, very happy to find out that there are a lot of people in this country who don't get enough government help to stay in housing OR BUY A TELEVISION! They are homeless and many of them suffer and die from lack of proper medical and mental health care.

So when those imaginary freeloaders you talk about make you upset, you should take comfort in the knowledge that there are real people and families out there, many of them Mexican, who are homeless and suffering! Isn't that GREAT! I hope that makes you feel better. Have a great day!

Why would you watch TV all day..? tell you what.. TV is a giant commercial. Programmers give you some program to keep you entertained until the next commercial, only golf is different... Golf make you sleep til next commercial...news are entertainment news and not real news. Real news also are not real news neither; these are just make believe news or stories the government wants you to believe..

Most of the TV content is designed to make you believe that you are an heroic consumer that does consent to every little bullshit government want you to believe or buy, it makes you buy stuff you dont want nor that ever gonna make you happy..


Worst it the government and corporation are able to make you spend thousands of beautiful $$$ on high definition and bran NEW TV,, cable and the satellite communications.. so you pay for the B-U-L-L-SH-It they feed you with.. I agree with you. My uncle lives off Welfare, and is perfectly capable of working. He's just lazy.

I think Welfare should be limited to those who cannot work, due to serious physical and/or mental deformities, those who do work, but make below a certain income, and those who have lost their job through no fault of their own (for a time period of six months to one year).

Women with children will not get free education anymore, or be taken care of. I know a girl I used to go to school with who got pregnant just so she could get free schooling. Not right for others who have to pay for school, and not good for the child, since she doesn't know who the father is (she wanted to get pregnant, so she slept with about 20 guys just to make sure she did get pregnant).

I know it may seem harsh, but I think it will give people an incentive to get a job, since those who do work but still don't make above a certain income will get compensation, and those who don't work get nothing. It's only fair, and it will benefit society.
