I had my nails done yesterday. They are all cracking and lifting (risking infection). The gentleman refuses to refund my credit card. I want my mon ey back, he wants to try and fix them and I just don't trust him to do so.

Clarification: I spoke with the owners (who did my nails) and they refuse to refund because they think that isn't possible with the nail salons.

It depends on your local ordinances and state laws. You can always sue in civil court, but I doubt that the time, effort and costs would make it worthwhile. You can always try to dispute the charge with your credit card company, but all they have to do, usually, is show the signed receipt and declare that the work is done. What they would probably say is, "We don't have any idea what she did when she left here. She must have been doing something horrendous to damage her nails like that."

Call your credit card and dispute the charge. By law they have to refund your money and conduct an investigation. If you tell the store where you went that you are going to challenge the charge they might just refund you the money instead of dealing with the cc company.

Well, you have the upper hand since you paid by CC. Let him try to fix them, if it fails, ask again for the credit. If he refuses, call your CC company and file a complaint. While you're at it, file one with the BBB also.
