1927 New York Yankees also known as Murderers Row. They were the best team ever assembled for a season. Long term, I would say the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 70's. 4 Super Bowl wins in 6 years and the one year they didn't win was the best team ever. Injuries to 3 top running backs stopped them from winning 5 in 6 years. They had it all, offense, defense, special teams, coach.

Either AC Milan ( 1990- 1996), 1970 ( World cup winning ) Brazil side, Tottenham Hotspur ( Sir Bill Nicholson's 60's, 1st team to do 'the double' side) or the Chicago bulls (Michael Jordan/ Scottie Pippin era)??

you've a valid factor. yet why were they assembled? because John Thompson turned right into a terrible coach for the '88 Olympic crew that must have surely gained gold. The crew become assembled so as that they couldn't lose, even if if it tried. yet at what cost victory? if you're in search of real greatness in crew events, evaluate those which easily gained league championships: Celtics dynasty of the '50's and '60's 1927 Yankees Lakers crew that gained 33 (or 34) in a row 1972 Miami Dolphins
