There is a possibility that he could be Naruto's dad, it is because they look like each other, they have similar personalities, and no one would ever give their child as a sacrifice, so maybe the yondaime chooses his own.

Maybe. Yes, evidence does lead us to believe that he is but we may be meant to think that when it's not true. Personally I think they are related but not necessarily as father and son. I suspect they are brothers. Two things to remember: first we never see the nine tails attack the village. In the opening scene a ninja says, "Hold it here until the fourth arrives! Don't let it get any closer to our village." So I find it hard to believe when people say his parents died when the nine tails attacked the village. Since he was born IN the village and the fox never got there. This leads me to believe that his mother is still alive or died after. Second, doesn't it strike anyone as odd when the ninja in the opening scene says, "Hold it here until the fourth arrives!" yet Yondaime is known for his great speed. Why were they waiting? Where was he? Attending the birth of a family member possibly? My theory, Naruto and Yondaime are actually brothers, there father ... Jiraya. Or at least an uncle maybe, I definitely think the three are related. I still haven't worked out who the mother is but I'm working on.

I think yes, but there is no proof to it. It'd be a major story arc anyway, so I'm sure they are saving it for later. But really, there's plently of hints for it. Their hair and facial expressions are similar (ie, almost identical), the rasengan technigue was one of the 4th Hokage's. And the 4th died sealing the nine-tailed fox (wouldn't that count as dying when the nine-tailed fox attacked?) The 4th intended the one that held the sealed spirit of the Kyuubi to be a hero, not an outcast, sounds like something any proud father would consider for their child.

There is a possiblity he is. since they never mention his mother or father it cant be confirm. They both look alike and are said to have simular personalities. I think his mother may have died from child birth. It also didnt seem he wanted Naruto to suffer from being the container of the nine tailed fox. Him and the third pass a law that made so no one can talk about his past so that those children that he would grow up with wouldnt treat him differently. But it happened any way. I wish I had some proof to back this hypothesis but only time will tell. or the aurthor will.

Yes, The Fourth shares many similarities with Naruto, including blond hair, blue eyes, the same blood type (B), and overall similar personalities (though the Fourth is said to have been much smarter) as noted by Jiraiya. Naruto is also noted to be the Fourth's legacy by Uchiha Itachi. Furthermore, when he was trying to force Naruto to release his Kyūbi chakra, Jiraiya pushed Naruto off of a cliff, saying "Forgive me, Fourth" as he did so. All this has lead to speculation that the Fourth may in fact be Naruto's father.

I believe it, and I actually put it into a fanfic that I'm writing.

I won't post the link, if you want to know it, I can mail it, but otherwise I'm just going to present my reasoning.

I believe that the 4th Hokkage is Naruto's father.

When it spoke of sealing the fox spirit, it had to be in a babe who's cord had yet to be cut. I think The move itself was overall a desperate one. When the 3rd attempted the same sealing spell on Orochimaru it was said that the person's soul would spend an eternity in the spirit's stomach.

The 4th would not just ask someone's baby to be sacrificed for this. I believe that Naruto's mother was somehow injured, whetther it was by the fox spirit or otherwise, and sealing the beast within Naruto was the only way to save both the village and his son.

Though he loved the village, I highly doubt he would have just sacrificed himself and curse a child all at once.

I really think he wanted to save his son's life before he was sucked in. He could easily have had the fox's spirit sucked in with him, but chose instead to seal it.

Just my thoughts, but it is my line of reasoning.

No. The fourth hokage sealed the nine-tailed fox into Naruto, but he has nothing to do with Naruto's birth. It's speculated as such, but there has been no manga proof of it.

No, but they look alike! Nauto is an orphan remember! When naruto becomes hokage he will look like the fourth hokage! Great question.

well...some people say that the 4th hokage IS naruto's father and others don't..but technically i think so...because if 4th hokage wanted naruto to be reconized as a "hero" then it might have been his father....he looks like him...and people always compare him to be 4th hokage's son...i'm probably wrong...but that' what i think...^_~'
