I would like to monitor and periodically check my CPU's motherboard (internal) temperature without installing any software from the internet or a CD. Is there any way to check it though the Boot Menu or Setup Menu on startup?

I'm not sure I can use a thermometor to check my computer's temperature, but I am sure that my computer has a sensor on it's motherboard, but I am not sure how to access it.

I already got help from HP. I found out how to access the fan speed and temperature through BIOS on startup. Pretty simple compared to the answers I got. And I will look into the power supply. Thanks for the answers everybody!

Well, if this is a home-built computer, the motherboard should have come with software tools to do just that. You can't monitor it from within Windows without installing some kind of software (why is that a problem?). In some cases, you can go into the BIOS and there may be a temperature monitor there but you would have to restart and exit Windows (isn't that a bit of a pain just to check the temperature when you can download tools to do it within Windows). Why don't you want to use software to check it, as it is the easiest way. An infrared thermometer should also be able to report the temperature, at least within the case, checking individual components by that method would be difficult. Again, software tools from within Windows is your best bet.
